Black, Unrated vs. Hans Chen, Unrated

Result: 0-1 (win)

Round five saw my only victory of this event... against a small child. (Due to lower turnout than hoped, the scholastic section was combined into the U1500 section.)

I didn't want to underestimate my opponent just because of his age, and his opening seemed solid for the first five or so moves (the Bishop's Opening; apparently a classic, though I don't recall facing it before). After that, however, he starting dropping pieces, and the game ended after barely ten minutes.

With 16. ♖xf5, my opponent (unintentionally, I'm certain) made an illegal move, leaving his king in check by my bishop. However, having accidentally hung my share of pieces that day, I assumed it was my mistake and continued with my planned 16...♝xc1. I only realized what happened later when putting the game into Lichess. Since Lichess doesn't support illegal moves, I've split the game in two, with the second part beginning with the next legal position at the top of move 17.
